Our client, a publicly traded mining company with an operating (base metal) mine is seeking a CFO for their business. This is a 'hands on' CFO role as the team is lean but high performing. The CFO's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Strategy and Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Provide financial leadership and guidance to support strategic decision-making.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
Risk Management
Identify, assess, and manage financial risks affecting the company.
Implement effective risk mitigation strategies to protect the financial health of the organization.
Capital Management
Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial analysis for major business decisions.
Treasury and Cash Management
Optimize cash flow management and liquidity.
Monitor banking relationships and negotiate financial terms with financial institutions.
Financial Controls
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Financial Leadership
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide financial guidance to other departments and business units.
Stakeholder Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
Represent the company in financial matters to external parties.

The ideal CFO will be a CPA or similarly qualified Director of Finance or CFO coming from a publicly traded mining company. Ideally you have audit background and have been in more of hands on role dealing with stakeholders across all levels You have experience with mergers and acquisitions, liaising with auditors, working with and presenting to a board of directors. You know your stuff so your are comfortable dealing with difficult personalities.
