Position Overview

• Coordinating the development and ongoing generation and presentation of a series of health data indicators to meet obligations under agreements
• Working with team members on the definition, design, and implementation of new internal data resources leveraging existing Health data collection across multiple formats (e.g. MS Access, SAS, Meditech Data Repository, SQL Server, MS Excel);
• Supporting the design and implementation of new data interfaces using the Corolar Cloud Integration Platform utilizing both internal and external data resources;
• Supporting the definition and design phase of the CIS Integration Project;
• Assessing the opportunities to utilize data analytics in the initial phases of the Health Information System (PHIS)
• Other specific data analytics projects as designated

Qualifications

• Masters Degree, ideally with a concentration in data science/ data management;
• At least five years’ experience working with the planning and implementation of health data analytics systems and services;
• Experience with health data integration;
• Experience with tools currently in use by the HIU (e.g. SAS, R, Python, SQL Server, Power BI);
• Experience in EMR/EHR data extraction would be an asset, but any experience with SQL querying for data extraction would be sufficient;
• Familiarity with CIHI and Statistics Canada administrative data and surveys would be an asset;
• A specific health-focused specialization in data science is an asset;
