Director, Commercial Strategy & Operations (Still Portfolio) - Canada

As the Director of Commercial Strategy for Canada, Stills, you will lead the development of commercial strategies to strengthen the presence of our Stills portfolio across Retail channels. This portfolio includes brands such as Smartwater, Vitaminwater, Dasani, Aha, and Peace Tea. In this role, you will partner closely with the Brand, Franchise, Commercial Leadership, and the Canadian Bottler to support the annual business planning process through the identification of commercial opportunities, development of complementary strategies, and execution of these strategies in the market. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires excellent commercial strategy, influencing, and problem-solving skills and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Commercial Strategy and Operations for North America with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Franchise Commercial for Canada. The strong preference is for this role to be based in Toronto.

What You’ll Do for Us:
  • Lead commercial strategy and development of supporting tools and capabilities for the Canadian Bottler supporting the following brands: smartwater, vitaminwater, Dasani, Aha, Gold Peak, Peace Tea and Fuze
  • Partner with North America Brand teams on the annual commercial planning process to develop Canadian-relevant strategies, gain Franchise and Bottler alignment to strategies, and own communication and deployment of Commercial plans.
  • Act as Canada system subject matter expert to North America HQ teams, inclusive of identifying needs for market-specific initiatives where needed.
  • Lead development of execution guidelines for Stills portfolio in collaboration with Franchise Channel Execution team.
  • Track performance against Commercial priorities and identify needs for acceleration to address opportunities.
  • Manage portfolio optimization with Brand teams and Canadian Franchise and Bottler, including the development a deployment of acceleration and discontinuation plans.
  • Steward Commercial strategies and updates to Canadian Franchise and Bottler teams via System routines.
  • This role within Commercial Strategy & Operations role will influence and have direct impact on business results.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or other Graduate Degree Preferred
  • 5-10 Years of experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry
  • Leadership and experience working across retail channels – e.g., large store, small store, and club channels
  • Ability to collaborate with brand/category/franchise teams and other key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Brand/category management experience
  • Proven track record of ability to not only embrace change, but to drive it and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Effectively communicates and builds relationships at all internal and external organizational levels; communicates long-term vision and shorter-term opportunities through clear and simple messages

Pay Range:$142,300 - $168,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
