Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician

We are seeking motivated technical service personnel with experience in performing repairs and maintenance to heavy equipment / construction equipment / industrial equipment.
Preference will be given to applicants with significant work experience in relation to the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and industrial equipment such as pumps, air compressors, hydraulics, and related equipment.
You would be responsible to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment in shop and at field locations.
Specifically, this may include:
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing a wide range of construction / industrial / mechanical systems and equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Dismantling equipment for further inspection and repair
  • Performing preventive maintenance on mechanical and rotating equipment
  • Documenting all service and repair information
  • Ordering parts, receiving parts, and opening/closing work orders (as required)
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work
  • Working with the design team to build, assemble, manufacture systems and components
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
  • Safety oriented
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Related experience
  • Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driving record
  • Must be a team player
  • Machining capabilities are an asset
  • Welding capabilities are an asset
Conditions of employment:
Must be able to possess and retain the physical capabilities to perform the position which include but may not be limited to crouching, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs & ladders, ability to hear to diagnose mechanical troubles, and the ability to handle heavy and bulky objects.
The candidate will be required to operate all shop equipment and tools.
Above all, you must be customer oriented and have a strong mechanical aptitude with the willingness to perform a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks.
Licence/Certification:
  • Drivers License required
  • Trade Certificate (preferred)
  • First aid / CPR (asset)
  • WHMIS (asset)
  • Forklift Operator (asset)
  • Overhead Hoist Training (asset)
