HR and Recruitment Coordinator

About Exploring Scholar: Exploring Scholar is dedicated to delivering innovative educational projects for elementary and high school students across Canada. Our mission is to inspire and engage young minds through cutting-edge educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director in posting job openings on various recruitment platforms and job boards.
  • Review and screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Schedule initial phone screenings with selected candidates.
  • Prepare and send out offer letters, contracts, and company policies to new hires.
  • Organize and schedule onboarding meetings, ensuring new employees and contractors are fully integrated into the company.
  • Create and implement recruitment initiatives to attract top talent and improve the standards for both contractors and employees.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Support general HR administrative tasks as needed, including responding to employee inquiries, maintaining HR databases, and updating job descriptions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree completed or in-progress; a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an HR role, particularly in recruitment and onboarding, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with job posting platforms (e.g., Linked In, Indeed).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with candidates and employees professionally.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 6 – 20 per week
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
Work Location: Hybrid remote in North York, ON M2J 4G8
