International Recruitment Coordinator (Africa and Europe), Laurentian International

THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED AS ONE THAT MAY REQUIRE A DIFFERENT WORK WEEK AND/OR HOURS OF WORK. THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED AS ONE THAT REQUIRES REGULAR TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of International Recruitment and Services, the International Recruitment Coordinator (Africa & Europe) plays a key role in developinga strong enrolment pipeline from Africa and Europe Through recruitment, communications, relationship development and enrolment management strategies. The role also requires international travel to the region.The International Recruitment Coordinator (Africa & Europe) utilizes and measures strategies designed to meet enrolment objectives in Africa and Europe including: client, community and institutional relationship development, coordination with third party representatives, targeted visits and in-market event planning, relationship development with the Canadian High Commission and government agencies, development of market specific research and analysis and market specific collateral for print, online and social media, as well as communications designed to increase recruitment and conversion, building business cases for new relationships designed to meet Laurentian’s enrolment goals in Africa and Europe, and recommending participation in these opportunities.
Working with the Manager of International Regional Recruitment and Services, the successful candidate will work on various operational activities for Africa and Europe recruitment and enrolment. This includes budgets, admissions, liaison, and collaboration with colleagues across the university and post-secondary sector. This position will also assist in assessing results at the end of each cycle, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Furthermore, this position will:
- Develop and implement an institutional recruitment strategy plan for Africa and Europe in consultation with the Manager of International Recruitment and Service, while considering Faculty-specific goals and objectives;
- Advise the Manager of International Recruitment and Service on international recruitment in Africa and Europe and act as the regional expert for Faculty partners on recruitment opportunities within Africa and Europe;
- Analyze the student market, plan penetration strategies, and identify emerging opportunities to support institutional enrolment goals from Africa and Europe;
- Work closely with Communication to develop market specific publications, websites and social media channels;
- Build a network of internal and external contacts to promote Laurentian University’s profile, and to develop new program ideas;
- Develop and perform a variety of presentations to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, faculty members, colleagues from other universities, administrative staff and consultants, etc.;
- Identify, review, and engage with potential third-party representatives and Agents while working within the goals and objectives established by the international recruitment department;
- Monitor the agent/third party relationships and provide them with necessary training and feedback on their objectives;
- Serve as the principal contact for agents in Africa and Europe ensuring that contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- In collaboration with the Manager of admissions, ensure processes related to the evaluation and admission are followed, and that the processing of all international applications occurs, (undergraduate, graduate, full-time, part-time);
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 15 weeks) to independently conduct information sessions in a variety of formats (fairs, presentations, information panels, etc.);
- Organize and coordinate a number of recruitment campaigns (calling campaigns, chat campaigns, email campaigns, mailing campaigns, etc.). (10-12 per year);
- Plan and organize university overseas missions led by senior administration and faculty;
- Plan and organize the travel and accommodations of incoming international delegations;
- Liaise with and advise students and guardians throughout the admission process;
- Liaise with students who are completing associate or partner institution programs;
- Liaise with Alumni to foster ongoing relationships with LU graduates residing internationally;
- Maintain a database of information about target recruitment areas, contacts, prospective students and visit results.
Qualifications
- Honors undergraduate degree (4 years) in a relevant field (such as a Business Administration., Political Science, Finance or Education);
- Three to five years of experience, preferably in an educational setting;
- One to three years’ experience in international recruitment with specific experience recruiting in Africa & Europe, international recruitment and marketing, development programs, or project management preferred;
- Proven knowledge of African and European education systems;
- Strong communication, customer service, conflict resolution and problem solving skills;
- Computer skills, social media knowledge and experience using the internet and the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills and proven capabilities in mastering plugins;
- Must be self-directed with the ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and set priorities;
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners;
- Ability to travel internationally and visit community organizations as required;
- Ability to work non-traditional hours to attend student social events as required;
- Extensive experience with international travel, recruitment networks from abroad, and diverse cultures;
- Knowledge of African dialects would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work fluently, oral and written, in both official languages (French/English) is a requirement for this role.
- Ability to speak Spanish would be considered an asset.
