Your Opportunity:

This opportunity is a permanent 1.0 FTE Infection Control Professional (ICP) position, working daily, on-site at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional to join our collaborative and patient safety focused team. The ICP is a patient safety expert with a breadth and depth of expertise in their own field and in the principles of infection prevention and control. The ICP requires knowledge of other disciplines to effectively apply IPC principles in different circumstances across all health care environments. The ICP leads the planning, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of system wide improvements in infection prevention and serves as a role model to promote the goals of the IPC program within the larger context of the vision and mission of AHS. The ICP facilitates change through interpretation and application of standards and provides best practice recommendations across the spectrum of the organization with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes, and preventing hospital acquired and healthcare associated infections (HAIs).
