Cyber security is an essential role in any company these days. And in this IT Security Specialist role, you’ll play an important role in securing the technical environment for a well-established, Burnaby-based company.

This job is suitable if you have at least a couple of years of recent, hands-on IT security work in a corporate environment. This work will include a wide variety of duties, including building awareness among staff, training and education related to cybersecurity, audit and compliance, technical analysis of log files - and of course you may jump in to help with general IT-related duties as well. So in other words, this is an all-encompassing role related to IT security.

In this role you’ll work at the Burnaby HQ, which is located near Willingdon and Canada Way. There are several transit lines that can you bring you close to the office, and it is quite close to both Metrotown and Brentwood shopping areas.

This is a full-time position, and includes a competitive base salary, paid vacation and extended health and dental benefits.

One of the attractive elements of this opportunity is to really take ownership of various aspects of this company’s IT security environment. You will be working with one other IT security professional as part of a small team, so you’ll have someone nearby to exchange ideas and knowledge related to IT security.

Requirements

Here are some of the items that you'll bring to the table for this role:

You have three or more years of recent, hands-on experience as an IT security specialist in a corporate environment
You have five or more years of experience as an IT systems administration with broad exposure to Windows operating systems, business applications, mobile device management, and networking
You currently reside in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, and you enjoy working in an office environment (Burnaby, BC location)
Certifications in information security such as a Security+, CISA, CISSP, would be considered an asset
