What you'll be doing

Working under the supervision of the Director of Project and the Architectural Technology Manager, you will perform a variety of Construction documents and Contract administration tasks to prepare documents needed to take a building from original concept to completion. Contributes toward the accuracy, quality, completeness, and schedule of finished drawing packages. This role will serve a year in the Contract Administration department before moving to the Architectural Technology department. As a Junior Architectural technologist, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Working from markups to assist with the preparation of technical documentation such as details, millwork drawings, section and material specifications
• Assist the Contract Administrator during construction
• Gain knowledge in the coordination of consultants
• Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology
• Participate as an AT team member developing highly detailed models in REVIT
• The creation of technical content including details to the highest standard of excellence under supervision
• Attends internal team meetings and provides status updates as required
• Other tasks as assigned by the manager

Qualities & Minimum Requirements:

The chosen Junior Architectural Technologist candidate must possess:

• Possesses excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to pay close attention to details to ensure that work is done correctly and thoroughly
• Able to meet tight deadlines
• Be collaborative, highly motivated, accountable and diligent
• Work well in a team environment and be capable of seeking input when required
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written English communications skills
• Quality control, be thorough in completing tasks assigned
• Willing to learn contract document process
• Architectural Technology Diploma Required
• Good background in computer drafting (Revit) required, and fluency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Some familiarity with the Alberta Building Code
• Good documentation skills
• Able to work under pressure to complete work and meet deadlines
