LIVE IN CARETAKER - Hemlock Condominium buildings are located on Hemlock Mountain at the beautiful Sasquatch Mountain Ski Resort.
Do you love to ski, snowboard or hike or just love the idea of a quiet life on a mountain?! Live and work on a beautiful mountain with a remote feel, but only a 2-hour drive from Vancouver! We're looking for a year-round live-in Building Caretaker or Caretaking Couple for a residential condominium complex.
You will be responsible for maintaining two buildings with 60 units total, including a pool, two hot-tubs, two saunas, two owners lounge areas and a games room. These are primarily vacation units with a few full-time residents.

This is a live in Full-time Caretaker position. Included in this position is a 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom suite with loft, 1 personal parking space, on site Laundry and a storage space. Rent, heat, light, satellite, wifi is included with a regular salary. Shifts will be Thursday to Sunday (40 hours per week)
Essential Job Duties

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the buildings.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all common areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting.
• Maintain pool and hot tubs (training provided).
• Assist with inventory management with ordering supplies for office, first aid kits, pool and cleaning supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and security in parkades.
• Keep storage areas tidy.
• Ensure cleanliness and security in mechanical rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of lobbies and entrances.
• Perform mechanical skills and troubleshooting
• Coordinate and monitor contractor activities
• Shovelling and salting walkways and entrances in winter
• Lawn cutting and general grounds clean-up in Spring and Summer, watering plants
• Report any deficiencies or safety concerns to strata
• Posting notices and information when needed
• 24/7 emergency response when required (answering phone, dispatching emergency services or calling emergency help)
• Setting up and taking down decorations for the holidays
• Changing light bulbs
• Set up and take down of patio furniture
• Creating incident reports as needed
• Provide regular reports to Strata
• Any other duties that may be required by a live in caretaker

Requirements

• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, cleaning, caretaking and operations functions - on site training will be provided
• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and equipment operation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to new situations
• Be physically able to carry out all necessary duties, including walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to have a strong command to enforce rules around the buildings
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Employees are required upon hire to satisfactorily complete and pass a criminal record check
• Mechanical skills are an asset, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing troubleshooting
• Friendly and effective communication with owners and strata council
• Must be a current resident of Canada or posses the appropriate documentation to legally work in Canada
• Valid driver’s license
