Medical Laboratory Technologist - Permanent Part-Time (Multi-site)

ROLE
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is looking for Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team on a Permanent Part Time basis. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform routine and special laboratory tests in CMLTO authorized areas of practice: Biochemistry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, which require the use of professional judgment. Receive, identify, separate and distribute biological specimens. The application of principles, theories and techniques of Medical Technology are used to produce accurate test results, which aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
  • Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program.
  • Current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Ontario (CMLTO).


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
  • Effective oral and written communicate skills
  • Possess good problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work independently
  • Ability to perform duties calmly while under pressure
  • Ability to work harmoniously with patients, physicians, other manager and colleagues
  • Knowledge of blood collection systems
  • Good visual acuity and colour discrimination
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville


Department: Laboratory


Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.


As a condition of employment, external hires are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
