Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide quality delivery of assigned courses within the Personal Support Worker program, utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment. Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and as required, grading class tests, assignments, and exams.
The PSW Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of Eastern College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

- Demonstrated leadership skills including inspiration, motivation and facilitation
- Strong prioritization and interpersonal skills to balance multiple demands
- Ability to resolve student concerns and escalate accordingly if required
- Readiness and willingness to apply different ways of communicating to accommodate various learning styles
- Ability to facilitate group sessions and presentations
- Strong English skills; reading, writing and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Friendly, supportive and sensitive to timelines
- Professional behavior and appearance
- Patient and understanding
- Self-motivated & organized
- Positive demeanor and encouraging personality
- Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio- economic, cultural, sexual orientation, disability and ethnic backgrounds of the students
- Must be able to convey meaning using visual, verbal, and tactile means
- Strong English skills; reading, writing and verbal
What you bring to the position:
To succeed in this thrilling role, you should bring:
- Must be a Licenced Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with New Brunswick College of Nursing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of current, relevant work experience in a Canadian healthcare environment - preferably in a long-term/chronic care setting or with a community care agency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and use of the Internet.
- Understanding of Adult Learning Principles an asset
