About the role

The Operator Charge Up role offers an exceptional opportunity to join the Development team and be responsible for charging of production and/or development headings with explosives to a pre-designed blast patterns at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

The position will be on a 14 days on / 14 days off roster with day shift and night shift rotations at Balmer Complex and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. Multiple positions on various rotations are available.

Key result areas in this role include:
Specific duties may include charging and firing production and development headings; completing pre blast and post blast checks; washing, scaling down the area after blasting; when required, assisting with installation and maintenance of underground services; and when required, assisting service crew or other equipment operators.

Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner and comply with all safety procedures

Wear all required personal protective equipment

Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards

Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor

Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free

Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements

Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures

Perform duties of Operator Charge Up and other duties as assigned by your supervision within your qualifications

About you

As the Operator Charge Up, you will have a Grade 12 Highschool Diploma or GED.

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
Previous underground mine experience;

Basic Underground Hardrock Common Core and relevant blasting modules including Mobile Blasting

Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment

Competent communication abilities

Sound knowledge of underground mining procedures

Great attitude, hard worker, team player, able to work independently and follow instructions

Great attendance, great past performance and reliability
