Position Overview
The candidate will support the IA Team with its high-net-worth clients in the analysis of portfolios and investments as well as producing portfolio proposals for potential clients. The training program will first include a period of learning of basic investment compliance, Wealth Management systems, admin tasks, and the functioning of the overall Canadian financial system for individuals. The candidate will be embarking on a rewarding, long term career path leading to potentially high-level integrated and holistic wealth management expertise, which could include CIRO licensing as an Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, IPF licensing as a Financial Planner, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to apply principles of asset allocation to client portfolios
• Research of dividend growing stocks, blue-chip stocks Canadian and US
• Understanding and thorough research of the 24,000 ETFs, alternative strategies funds and Canadian mutual funds
• Responsible for producing reports and monitoring client positions to ensure they are in line with model portfolios and proposals, reviewing and producing investment policy statements
• Trade execution, monitoring, reconciliation, auditing, suitability
• Review and optimize investment processes
• Meet with wholesalers and attend investment presentations

Qualifications

• Independent, responsible, resourceful, and personable
• Demonstrated interest in finance field, through work experience and/or education
• Must be proficient in MS Office Suite
• Ability to work under pressure Capacity to learn new systems quickly
• Fluent in French and English, written and spoken
• Strong sense of organization and managing priorities
• Team spirit
• Knowledge of financial and tax planning would be an asset

Education

• Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Business/Economics or related field
• Ideally, have completed the Canadian Securities Course as well as the Conduct and Practices Handbook
• Registered for CFA Level III
