Position Overview:
Matcor-Matsu is seeking an experienced and driven Program Manager to oversee the successful launch of awarded automotive programs. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all project milestones and deliverables are met according to customer expectations, maintaining budgetary targets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the program lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of relevant experience, with automotive and metal stamping industry knowledge as a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a master timeline for each program to ensure timely delivery of all milestones and customer requirements.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers, fostering strong relationships and addressing program-related inquiries throughout the project’s duration.
- Lead team product launch activities, coordinating cross-functional reviews and utilizing the Gate Review process to track program milestones.
- Oversee equipment builds, including stamping dies, welding equipment, and inspection gauges, ensuring on-time delivery to production plants.
- Order and track equipment builds, pre-production, and prototype requirements as needed.
- Ensure program costs align with established budgetary targets, regularly reporting budget and timing status to executive management.
- Proactively raise alerts to management if any risks to program targets or timelines arise.
- Coordinate design reviews and manage ongoing design changes using the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process.
- Use problem-solving tools to address design, equipment, or product issues that may impact program success.
- Facilitate tooling moves between suppliers and the Matcor Matsu plant for smooth installation.
- Periodically travel to customer and supplier sites for meetings and product reviews.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience, ideally in program management within the automotive or metal stamping sectors.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or related fields.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple, complex projects.
- Strong understanding of materials and processes in a metal stamping and welded assembly manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to track program costs and maintain project budgets effectively.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with customers and suppliers.
