Doepker Industries is a leading Canadian manufacturer of highway semi-trailers. We are continually developing new and innovative designs for our customers across Canada and have won awards and been recognized for business excellence and innovation since 1948.
We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at our Saskatoon location.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator takes personal responsibility for motivating and supporting the purchasing team as it achieves its operational efficiency goals through forecasting and managing supplier accounts, inventory levels, inventory costs, purchase pricing, supply quality and logistics.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Leading as a reliable, self-starting and self-improving team member who accepts responsibility for actions, takes thoughtful initiative, strives for excellence, and constantly seeks a better way to do things.
· Assisting in building a strong, dependable and knowledgeable Purchasing Team by leading training and staff development, learning through participation, and setting and achieving goals.
· Establishing and fostering strategic relationships with key suppliers, managing current accounts, identifying new suppliers, and supporting negotiations for supply agreements.
· Managing inventory levels for purchased and manufactured parts using internal systems.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet timelines and manage problems.
· Experience in a supervisory, team-leading role in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of accomplishments in that role, is required.
· High level of clear and effective communication skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in business or commerce or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Supply Chain Management Professional designation.
· Computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point) is required.
