Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with loss prevention /control systems, as they relate to health and safety and in providing technical support for improvement efforts.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our employees.

This is a permanent full-time Monday to Friday position

Responsibilities
- Will assist managment with the development and implementation of a safety management system aimed at preventing and controlling losses
- Will participate in incident preventation activities, including inspections, observations and incident investigations.
- Acts in an advisory capacity to managment and may serve as a liaison with governmental agencies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and standards
- Provide training and education on health and safety procedures to employees
- Investigate accidents and incidents and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrence
Requirements
- Preference will be given to candidates with a post-secondary degree and/or certificate in Occupational Safetyand Health or CRSP/CHSC designation (preferred)
- Knowledge of safety and health regulations and standards
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene
- Demonstrated experience with WCB processes and return to work programs
- Previous experience in a 7/24 Manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
