Commercial Truck Equipment Co, a leader in the truck equipment industry is looking for an eager, enthusiastic individual with a professional attitude to fill a full-time position in our Regina branch.
As a Shop Foreman, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a shop and service centre. You will be responsible for supervising a team of service technicians and truck equipment installers, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Your strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities will contribute to the success of the shop and the satisfaction of our customers. - Supervise and manage a team of technicians or mechanics, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Working with the service and production manager, allocate work assignments to technicians and ensure that work is performed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor and review the progress of work orders, ensuring that deadlines are met and any issues or delays are promptly addressed.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed repairs to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues or problems, providing technical expertise and guidance to technicians.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are available and utilized efficiently.
- Maintain and update service records, including work orders, repair logs, and customer information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and clean working environment for both employees and customers.
- Collaborate with other departments or teams, such as parts procurement or customer service, to facilitate smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills to improve shop operations.
- Provide Technical expertise to customers.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Excellent technical knowledge and expertise in truck equipment, automotive, machinery, or relevant mechanical systems.
- Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical issues or problems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Sound decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed judgments and handle unexpected situations or challenges.
- Proficient in using computerized maintenance and diagnostic systems, and other relevant software or tools.
- Experience as a shop lead or foreman.
- Journey person ticket, Red Seal considered and asset
- Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and repair procedures.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a shop or service center environment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, compliance standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Certification or licensure in relevant areas considered a plus.
- Strong knowledge of shop equipment and tools, including diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
