We are currently looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our diverse fleet of equipment based out of our Prince George shop.


Responsibilities include:

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the shop, prioritizing and assigning work as required including deployment of mobile field HDMs
• Manage and mentor apprentices assigned to location
• Complete daily safety briefings
• Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment
• Diagnose and repair all types of equipment
• Report to the Mechanical Superintendent
• Complete work orders and equipment log books accurately
• Source parts and supplies when necessary
• Work individually as well as in a team environment*
• Assist with other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Completion of provincial red-seal apprenticeship in Heavy Duty Mechanics or Commercial Transport
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Extensive experience with hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Class 3 w/ air license would be an asset
• Experience with railway equipment an asset
• Work within our safety guidelines
• Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screening
• Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
• Able to work all types of shifts as required
• Willing to learn and repair all types of equipment
• Willing to travel and work in remote locations when necessary
