Position: Specialized Caregiver Supports (8-hour shifts)

• Wages: $27.54 - $31.61 per hour; as per the collective agreement

Summary:
Axis Family Resources Ltd. is hiring Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual Specialized Caregivers and Specialized Caregiver Supports to support Persons Served living in our Specialized Supportive Housing. Building and maintaining healthy relationships with our Persons Served through a trauma-informed practice is the core of our work. You will promote a positive and healthy environment that supports our persons served towards achieving educational, social, and recreational goals while focusing on daily life skills development. The Specialized Caregiver role is considered a “live-in” caregiver position. Typically, a full-time rotation follows a 3-day on, 3-day off shift model.
As a Specialized Caregiver and/or Specialized Caregiver Supports, you will be provided with in-depth training, a private secured staff room, and 24-hour support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A certificate or diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or other related discipline
• Minimum 1- 2 years’ experience in social services, or a combination of education and experience will be considered
• Related experience in working with vulnerable populations or behavioural challenges is an asset
• Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver’s license
• Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial
• Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered)
• Effective written and verbal communication
