Intevac’s TRIO™ product is a breakthrough multi-zone automated coating system. TRIO™ coats 2D and 3D substrates to produce coatings that exceed industry standards – with major implications for glass substrates in the consumer electronics and automotive industries.
Growth in cloud-based storage requires the most efficient mass production of hard disks. Intevac’s Hard Disc Drive (HDD) 200 Lean® platform and its flexible architecture allow for continuing process technology and throughput advancements.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic China Country Manager to join our Intevac team. In this role you will be part of a highly skilled sales and services team motivated by driving our sales business in China. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Services, this is a senior level position in which you will be a central part of the execution of our product and sales strategy for our mature Hard Disk Drive (HDD) business as well as drive the market introduction and growth of our new TRIOTM product line. In this crucial role, you will realize our critical growth plans for the China market with the insight and capability to uncover customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Execute the sales and market strategy for Intevac's mature HDD product line, maximizing market penetration and maintaining strong customer relationships with key accounts in China.
- Lead the commercial launch of the TRIOTM product in China, positioning it as a next-generation solution in target industries.
- Collaborate with global leadership to align China’s strategy with corporate goals, including revenue growth, market share, and profitability targets.
Sales & Business Development:
- Drive sales activities in China for both the HDD and TRIOTM product lines, focusing on increasing market share and meeting sales targets.
- Identify, develop, and nurture new business opportunities and partnerships within key China industry sectors.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with existing customers for the HDD business, providing high-level service to retain and expand accounts.
- Engage with potential customers for the TRIOTM product, positioning Intevac as a leader in emerging technologies and ensuring a strong market entry.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers in China, addressing concerns and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
Market Research & Analysis:
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs in China for both HDD and TRIOTM product lines.
- Provide feedback to the global product development, technical and marketing teams to ensure product offerings are tailored to market demands.
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies to maintain Intevac’s competitive edge.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the local sales team, providing direction and support to achieve sales targets.
- Convey customer technical requirements to a global technology team.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and support teams to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction.
Desired Qualifications and Key Personal Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior sales role such as Country Manager or General Manager, working for a foreign firm.
- Proven track record of successfully managing sales and product strategies in China.
- Experience in launching new products and developing emerging markets.
- Language - Chinese with strong proficiency in English - verbal and written.
- An energetic and highly motivated individual with a strong desire to work in a dynamic global technology company environment.
- Strong work ethic, passion, action-oriented, integrity and commitment are a must.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to customize key messages for specific target audiences.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work with diverse personalities, build effective relationships and interact appropriately and effectively at all levels of the organization.
