Position summary:
As the Strategic Marketing Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for our company to maximize the company’s growth and market influence. This role requires extensive experience in upstream marketing and the ability to drive strategic partnerships with key collaborators.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)
Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification

Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and potential market opportunities.

Analyze competitive landscape and benchmark against industry standards to inform strategic decision-making.

Develop market segmentation and targeting strategies to identify key customer segments and growth areas.

In key strategic products, working with division , APAC, China supporting function leaders and BU leaders to develop middle and long term strategy.

Conduct regular competitive analysis to stay informed about industry developments and competitor activities.

Identify competitive advantages and differentiation opportunities for Stryker’s products.

Provide strategic recommendations to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to define product concepts, features, and specifications.

In key strategic products, working with division , APAC, China supporting function leaders and BU leaders to develop middle and long term strategy.

Develop and present business cases, market requirements documents (MRDs), and product requirements documents (PRDs) to support new product development initiatives.

Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product vision, strategy, and development priorities.
Strategic Planning and Execution:

Lead the strategic planning process for Stryker China. Lead strategic discussions and support the building of a longer term plan by sales BU.

Work closely with downstream marketing team to define and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches and existing product lines.

Align upstream marketing activities with overall business objectives and strategic goals.

Work with cross functional team on integration plan for any proposed BD opportunity
Education & Experience:
-
Degree holder in Marketing, or Business Administration, or in Medicine or Biomedical Engineering, MBA required.
-
At least10 years’ experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry in strategic, marketing; or similar experience within Consulting or Investment banking.

Upstream marketing experience within medical device industry.
-
Demonstrated capability in managing large cross functional and cross boarder projects, can influence without authority and have the capability to drive execution to results.

Sales experience is a plus.

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

Proactive to support both internal and external customers

Proficient in both written & spoken English

Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization

Strategic thinking capability a must
