International Contract Analyst

- The ICA will be capable to identify the risk associated to a contract and will inform the management about the nature of the risks, considering incoterms, financing, logistics, insurances, resolution of disputes, etc.
- He or she will be guarantor of the coordination between purchase, sales, and shipping terms, ensuring that the commercial contract secures the secondary contracts (LCs, Charter Party, etc.).
- He or she will be responsible to maintain the contracts management repository database, to regularly control the alignment of the contracts with the models agreed and the evolution of the regulations.
- He or she will follow-up the contracts inventory in a Share Point. The ICA will be owner of the contractual process, ensuring revision on timely manner and formalization as per the process in place.
- Finally, the ICA will build a legal std. database for AMI and maintain it updated in conformity with legal dpt. and will support to the preparation of legal trainings for the AMI network.
Additionally, we want this person to act as paralegal:
- Coordinate and support / review litigation proceedings, enforcement, settlements, claims etc.
- Act on AMI’s interest in front of administrative bodies in China when required.
- Assess from legal perspective the chartering / shipping activities and develop knowledge on admiralty law to optimize our shipping process.
- Look for the automation of the contract management process and propose and develop frame agreements with main suppliers, with the support of legal dpt.
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating agreements and related activities
- Any other paralegal transversal project such as: benchmark of enforceability of international awards to define best applicable laws & jurisdiction per flow, etc
- Bachelors in Chinese Law, specialty in International Business Law or International Private Law or Shipping / Maritime regulations, or International Contracts Laws (incoterms, import/export)
- Minimum 3-5 years of work experience on the following legal fields:
- Contract management: review and draft of international trade contracts
- Exposed commercial litigations in China or to international award enforcements in China
- Independent and able to work autonomously.
- Relationship management skills, strong interpersonal skills: capable to build and maintain positive relationships with commercial network, order management and corporate legal team .
- Rigorous and with sense of detail
- Excellent time management skills, proactivity, dynamism, and vitality
- Structured and well organized.
- Understanding of risk management
- Compliance with internal processes
- In-depth understanding of contract language, excellent negotiation skills, and well-developed writing and editing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
