Job Description
- Qualcomm is a leading supplier of chipset platforms for automotive infotainment. You will be part of the team responsible for managing the auto infotainment product go to marketing in China. You will be promoting the technology, industry-leading trends, and directing those involved in design, modification and evaluation of all phases of the product.
- Translates customer needs, product roadmaps, and organizational strategy into successful product portfolios and facilitates decisions necessary for product delivery by partnering with cross-functional leaders.
- Drives effective cross-functional collaboration by ensuring the engineering, CE, BU and other internal teams to meet customer expectations, promised deadlines, and align with overall roadmap for product portfolio(s).
- Drives communication plan and communicates appropriately with internal teams, customers, third-party vendors, and senior management to build relationships, ensure alignment and buy-in, and achieve product goals as well as manage any planned changes.
- Engage with China Auto OEMs, JVs, tier1s, tier2s and infotainment partners
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years Product Marketing or relevant work experience
- Understand EE architecture of auto infotainment and SOC IP blocks
- Experience with the software and hardware in the embedded platforms
- Knowledge of infotainment market trend, competitive landscape
- Knowledge of mobile SOC will be a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Fluent in Chinese, English
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 6+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
OR
High school Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
- Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Marketing, Technical or related field.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Marketing, Technical or related field.
- 6+ years of Product Marketing or related work experience.
- 3+ years of leading strategic or business performance initiatives and/or organizational change initiatives.
- 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above)
- 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leverages advanced knowledge of Product Marketing principles and best practices to manage and drive products, projects, and programs.
- Develops strategies, plans product positioning and market entry of Qualcomm product lines.
- Evaluates competitive product analysis and formulates plans and objectives for specific product areas.
- Creates content and executes marketing plans for Qualcomm products with minimal supervision.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and customers to promote products and technologies.
- Interacts with stakeholders, cross-functional team members, peers and business unit regularly to discuss product and go-to market plans.
- Acquires advanced knowledge of Product Marketing field and industry and competitive landscape by attending educational workshops and expanding personal networks within the organization.
Level of Responsibility:
- Working independently with minimal supervision.
- Providing supervision/guidance to other team members.
- Making decisions that may affect work beyond immediate work group.
- Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
- Working within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.
- Exercising a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
- Completing tasks that require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
