Senior Operations Manager
As the Senior Operations Manager at Giga Energy, you will lead our Product Operations team focused on order management, logistics, and quality. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all incoming and active projects/orders deployed to our contract manufacturing partners in China. You must be a highly experienced and motivated individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a talent for creative problem-solving. Your expertise in electrical equipment, manufacturing processes, and international export logistics will be crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Manage Contract Manufacturing. Lead and oversee CM operations for multiple projects valued at ~$10M, ensuring alignment between project management, quality assurance, and logistics teams to deliver on-time results.
• Lead Projects. Manage transformer projects and other complex electrical infrastructure initiatives from design submittals to procurement, balancing high-level oversight with attention to granular details like custom component sourcing.
• Lead Cross-Functional Teams. Coordinate with sourcing, logistics, design departments, and CM engineering teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration in meeting project timelines.
• Manage Suppliers and Vendors. Develop and maintain relationships with Chinese suppliers, addressing capacity constraints, lead times, and change orders to meet production targets.
• Provide Technical Oversight. Review and approve CAD drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, and engineering schematics to ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards.
• Optimize Processes. Take initiative to improve internal and external processes, implementing best practices for supplier development and efficiency to support company growth.
• Manage Costs. Strategically optimize cost management for goods and labor by coordinating internal teams, contracted personnel, and suppliers.
• Ensure Quality Control. Work closely with quality control teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance with customer expectations and industry regulations.

Requirements

• 5+ years in operations management, with at least 3 years in a role with direct reports
• Experience in contract manufacturing, logistics, and project management in the energy or industrial sectors
• Strong understanding of CAD, electrical wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of US and China industrial markets and supply chains (preferred)
• Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing supplier relationships
• Exceptional problem-solving skills to handle complex project challenges
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills in both English and Mandarin
• Willingness to work in factory settings and travel to different production sites
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
