As a Research Chemist, Lead, you will complement this strategy by building and strengthening digital capabilities for accelerating new product development and improving productivity. You will be part of PPG Global Coatings Innovation Center (GCIC) in TEDA, Tianjin, but working locations will be in PPG’s China Powder Technology Center (CPTC) in Jiading, Shanghai. You will report to program leader of Core Technology.
Key Responsibilities

• Work with SBU to explore the growth opportunities area of powder coating digitalization in Asia Pacific.
  
• Understand industry needs, build digital roadmap, shape and complete projects.
  
• Conduct technical scouting of digitalization for powder coating.
  
• Develop and use digital tools for testing and product prototypes to accelerate NPI projects.
  
• Set up digital data base to optimize performance and operation window.
  
• New technology transfer from global R&D and deploy out to SBU with digital technology.
  
• Other tasks may be assigned by leaders.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in the field of Chemistry, Polymer, Material sciences, Chemical engineering or related major.
  
• Six sigma logic and data analysis capability is a must; can use either Minitab® or JMP® for subtle data processing.
  
• More than 10 years' of working experience, with experience of digitalization or capability to build process digital twin in coatings industries, and hands-on powder handling experience.
  
• Experience using modelling tool in powder processing, such as Ludovic® or CFD.
  
• Fluent in English.
  
• Customer engagement and focus.
