What are we looking for?

We are looking to expand with a new senior colleague our Cloud Fabric team, which is the core of our Kubernetes infrastructure, keeping up our internal multi-cloud offerings in good shape. On our team, you'll design, provision, operate and automate dozens of Kubernetes clusters (with tens of thousands of nodes, hundreds of thousands of cores), across multiple providers and all the basic subsystems to provide a cohesive experience.
We value strong engineering skills, and love solving complex problems - if required we can research, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems. We share a passion for building Dev Ops tools that accelerate processes and improve engineering effectiveness.

What will you do?

• Working on systems and large impactful initiatives that allow our engineers to deliver features safely, quickly, and reliably - such as new Kubernetes Control Plane or Cloud Infra Platform we're building
• Support Engineering teams and help them to adopt and utilize Dev Ops practices
• Owning key metrics around performance, throughput, and failure rates

We are looking for someone who can

• Spot areas of improvement to make us more reliable and efficient
• Help drive lowering costs (Fin Ops, COGS)
• Plan new features to improve the offerings of our infrastructure
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Improve our automation and standardization across cloud providers
• Keep our visibility by constantly improving our monitoring

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

• Multiple years experience in running operations at large scale on AWS and/or GCP... others desired
• Experience building and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Solid experience with and deep understanding of Networking and Routing
• Experience with Golang or another programming language like Python, Java, Ruby and willingness to learn
• Desired - solid production experience with Kubernetes (and good knowledge of its architecture and APIs), experience with managed solutions desired (GKE/EKS/etc.)
• A plus - knowledge of typical Kubernetes systems like cert-manager, sealed secrets, ingress controllers, etc.
• A plus - experience building monitoring and alerting using Prometheus or alternative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill
