Who are we?
So, you’ve made it here — curious about what life is like at Octocube Games HQ?We’re an indie game studio, and our focus is clear: we create mobile games packed with content, designed for replayability, and centered around a strong sense of progression. What sets us apart? We don’t rely on exploitative monetization techniques. No forced ads, no gacha systems, no chance-based premium content. Just good, honest game development.
At Octocube Games, we believe in flexibility and freedom. Expect a 30-hour work week and the ability to adjust your schedule as needed. Bad night's sleep? Personal life throwing some curveballs? We get it. As long as we’re not in the middle of a critical sprint, there’s no need for excuses—just take the time you need. We understand that life happens, whether it’s family commitments, personal appointments, or simply needing a mental break. We want you to manage life without feeling like you’re letting down the team.
Still with us? It gets better. We don’t do meetings for the sake of meetings!
We’re a forward-thinking, close-knit indie team. We set high expectations and believe in quality over quantity. Here, everyone’s contribution matters, and we want you to feel valued and impactful—because that’s the kind of team we’re building.

CIFI Developer1: The Reacher
That’s a cool title huh? We’re seeking a Developer to join our CIFI team, focusing on code optimization and expanding the game’s global reach.Key Responsibilities:
-
Play CIFI!
- Yes, you read that right—you’ll be playing video games, especially CIFI! Gaining a deep understanding of the mathematical relationships between upgrades, content, and features in the game is crucial. Expect to dive into CIFI often to fully grasp the intricate systems at play.
-
Refactor existing code to enhance performance, structure scripts, and revamp legacy systems
- Your role will involve cleaning up scripts, refactoring, and rewriting code to improve the game’s performance. The smoother our game runs, the larger audience we can reach, and the happier our existing players will be — your work will be a key part of that success.
-
Develop translation systems
- Your mission will be to create the framework we need to expand CIFI’s global accessibility. While you won’t be doing the translations yourself, you’ll be responsible for building the systems that enable us to reach beyond the English-speaking, primarily U.S.-based audience we currently serve.
-
Work on localization and release requirements for other platforms (i OS, etc.).
- You’ll explore the requirements for releasing our games on different platforms, helping us expand our presence across various stores. This will allow new players to discover us more easily and grow our audience.
-
Working on a dedicated 2.5 man team
- You’ll be teaming up with another developer whose role complements yours, making you two the core of the CIFI development team. And then there’s me! Hi, I’m a UI and game designer with some programming experience, and I’ve been working on CIFI for 3 years. I’ll be here to help onboard you, answer questions related to UI and game design, and support you as we plan and manage the CIFI project together.
Sounds good? Want in?
Now that you're interested, it’s your turn to reach out to us! To streamline the process, we’d love to get a clear picture of your skills and experience. Here’s what we’d like to know:(the below points are not required, they’re just guidelines to help you write something about yourself)
- What game development work have you done so far?
- What is your experience with programming?
- What is your experience in unity?
- Have you contributed to any notable projects?
- What drives you? What are your goals and motivations for working in game development?
