DSV
Director with hands-on product ownership for new Global Customs platform
Hedehusene
FULL TIME
November 5, 2024
Time Type: Full Time
Are you ready to take on product ownership of an AI-enabled customs management system?
This innovative platform will deliver a scalable ONE-file solution that can support both partial and complete end-to-end customs services. Joining us in the role of director, you will have a significant global impact as you help shape one of our 5 strategic pillars.
”You’ll be part of building a solution that’ll allow us to stay competitive. A 10-minute improvement can be multiplied by 2000 people. So, the solution you’re building can truly enhance productivity, expand service offerings, and support organic growth,” says Mathias Welcher, Senior Director, Global Customs.
A new way to work with global customs
Based at our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, you will join Global Customs and lead a team of 3 business analysts based in Poland. Dealing with customs for our DSV customers has long been part of our business. However, we are now building an AI-enabled platform, allowing us to have one global and uniform way of dealing with customs across countries and customs regulations.
As your team will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to adapt business needs and requirements into the new solution, you will carry out indirect management in our matrix organisation. Moreover, you will be part of a management team of 3 that we are currently building within Global Customs.
Pave the way for the Customs platform (Customs AI)
Being responsible for our customs platform as well as being the owner of our Commercial and Platform Service Catalogue, your finest task is to develop a solid enterprise customs platform covering the majority of DSV’s Customs volume.
Specifically, you will optimise our customs procedures, enhancing compliance and minimising risks, which are critical to our global operations. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and helping teams refine their processes and practices for better productivity you will also:
- Develop strategic roadmaps for implementing new features, preparing employees within deadline and budget needs, and providing updates on progress and timelines to stakeholders
- Plan, execute, and monitor the product backlog
- Maintain and update our operating model for the intake process from idea screening, pre-analysis, specification, or functional and non-functional requirements
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact delivery/implementation
- Collaborate with our product owner, Global IT, local management, and other key stakeholders to align goals and priorities
- Lead and facilitate cross-team meetings and workshops to drive alignment and make collective decisions
Experience with building digital products
You approach your work methodically and enjoy creating structure, improving processes, and solving both small and larger issues as part of a building process. With a strong presence in the organisation, you are able to manoeuvre across a vast landscape of stakeholders and build a sturdy bridge to IT, and at the end of the day, you know how to get things done.
Finally, we imagine that you:
- Have experience with building digital products and are IT savvy, allowing you to specify technical changes/requirements to technical/development teams
- Can think critically about not only creation but also implementation and operational efficiency
- Have some leadership experience with direct leadership but also with indirect management in a matrix organisation
- Are fluent in English
