Zurich Risk Engineering
Zurich is one of the most specialized insurance companies within non-life commercial insurance for local and international business in the Nordic market. We are now looking for an individual with a driven, positive and engaging attitude to join our Nordic organization as a Risk Engineer within Property.
Zurich Risk Engineering is the strategic partner of our industry clients focusing on the identification, evaluation, quantification and reduction of overall risks and their possible impact. We have 850 risk professionals with industry expertise operating in over 40 countries working with first-class methods and tools covering a broad variety of disciplines.
Job Description:
As a Risk Engineer, you will identify, assess, and improve the risks of our customers, which include large and mid-size Nordic and global companies in the Nordic region. You will hold technical customer responsibility and work closely with our Underwriters, Claims Handlers, Relationship Leaders, and Customers.
Additionally, you will have account engineering responsibility and conduct risk assessments both in the field and through desktop assessments for prospect and renewal accounts, playing a key role in new business and renewals. Furthermore, you will provide continuous technical advice and inputs to customers and brokers.
Beyond traditional property engineering, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills within Construction Engineering by performing both desktop assessments and field assessments. You will also receive technical training in areas such as fire protection, business interruption, and new technology.
Moreover, there are opportunities to join one of our Global Technical Committees and you will have access to a global network of Risk Engineering specialists.
Qualifications:
- A few years industry experience, preferably within manufacturing, as a Fire or Process Safety Engineer, or as a Property Risk Engineer at a broker or insurance company
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Danish Language: C level
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering or risk management
Skills and competencies:
- Problem solving, decision making and judgment skills
- Ability to deliver clear and engaging presentations
- Strong relationship builder
- Ability to think critically and develop effective solutions for managing and mitigating risks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
As a person, you show initiative and have strong commitment to customer service. You are an analytical thinker and like to solve problems systematically. You like working independently but with good abilities to co-operate with both customers and colleagues globally.
