Senior Application Technician, Fermented Dairy Alternatives

Our area is crucial for Novonesis' work to develop more sustainable foods. We are responsible for Dairy Alternatives applications and work with the development of new bacterial cultures and enzymes within our primary focus for fermented dairy alternatives, especially new yogurt and cheese types. In addition, we help our customers to use enzymatic and microbial solutions in their production facilities in close cooperation with our local sales teams worldwide.
The department is housed in our state-of-the-art innovation center in Hørsholm, Denmark. Here you will work closely with application scientists, R&D and commercial teams to develop innovative applications using biology-based solutions (biosolutions).
You will be part of a diverse team of scientists and technicians, who are passionate about making a difference in plant-based foods. We apply a structured and entrepreneurial approach to industry-relevant innovation and collaborate closely with industrial and academic partners, as well as directly with our customers.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
As Senior Application Technician, you will provide essential support in customer-directed projects, new product development projects, and help maintain and expand our laboratory and pilot-scale capabilities. Your tasks will, furthermore, involve arranging ingredient supply, sample shipments, and improvement of work flows together with your colleagues, as well as documenting and reporting on experimental work in close collaboration with scientists.
Your primary responsibilities are:
- Production of plant-based dairy products in our application technology center at pilot-scale
- Conducting laboratory fermentations and sample analysis for specific product functionality; including rheology, sensory, biochemical analysis, p H etc.
- Participate in prototype- and concept sample development (from idea to product)
- Actively contribute to integration of new ingredients, development of new processes, and exploration of new equipment
- Planning, execution and reporting on experiments and productions in close collaboration with scientists
- Cleaning, maintenance, and expansion of select process- and production equipment
We are looking for a dynamic team player with:
- Educational background as process technologist and/or laboratory technician preferably within development and scale-up of new food and beverage products
- Passion and hands-on experience with process equipment, analytical tools and possibly plant-based fermentation applications
- A creative and customer focused mindset with an ability to implement abstract ideas into practical solutions
- Desire to engage with your colleagues and many internal and external stakeholders in a multi-cultural and entrepreneurial organization
- Proven skills in reporting on technical data to various stakeholders
