We are looking for an experienced Manager Safety & Environment that will be based in Ecuador and will be responsible for our Commercial Operations in Latin America and Puerto Rico. Reporting to the Global Director Health Safety & Enviroment (EHS), the Manager is responsible for managing the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety programs for Commercial Operations (Motor Vehicle Safety, Offices and Warehouses) including both field sales and office facilities to align with our Global programs.
This role will partner with country leadership and facilities to integrate effective and efficient Environmental, Health & Safety programs in alignment with business goals and values. Monitors and reports on LATAM. Health Safety & Enviroment Manager performance and develops strategies for continuous improvement and sustainable compliance to governing regulations and programs.

Responsibilities:
- Monitors and reports on Regional LATAM Health Safety & Enviroment performance and works with team to develop strategies for continuous improvement and sustainable compliance to governing regulations and programs throughout the region.
- Aligns with team so they can effectively serve as point of contact for business stakeholders in assigned sites, so they meet their responsibilities under the EHS program.
- Works with direct reports (LATAM Health Safety & Enviroment team) to complete frequent program assessments and data analytics to evaluate the performance of the EHS programs. Establishes and ensures completion of corrective actions, with urgency, to address areas requiring improvement. Escalates concerns through management as appropriate.
- Provides clear and concise EHS performance reports to LATAM operational leaders that are actionable and support implementation of EHS programs.
- Collaborates with and provides guidance to local leadership and facilities management to drive consistency in the implementation of EHS programs across Global Commercial Operations.
- Manages the LATAM regional assigned budgets within the established limits and quickly reports, adjusts, and resolves variances.
- Ensures completion of all regulatory submissions and notifications required to maintain compliance with federal/country, state, EHS requirements.
- Works with Global Team to develop and implement approaches to protect the safety of employees and to continuously reduce EHS events. Ensures proper investigation of EHS events through the root cause and establishes the required preventative measures.
- Partners with S&E Team of Direct Reports, Fleet Management, Service Providers, Human Resources and Country leaders to ensure LATAM Site Programs comply with the Global Motor Vehicle Safety program. Provide expert advice and coordinate local technical support.
- Ensure reporting of accidents or environmental events within LATAM to the enforcing authorities following reporting guidelines.
- Ensure that adequate records are maintained to demonstrate compliance with EHS programs.
- Work with Team to develop and implement country-specific injury prevention campaigns based on trending analysis.
- Grow and develop Direct Reports.
- Complete working visits to other Commercial sites within LATAM as needed. Participate in comprehensive building inspection of Commercial sites during site visits.
- Partner with in-country Communication teams to develop and implement effective communication strategy. Including information resulting from EHS related events to office occupants and field sales using available communication tools (Newsletter, Sync, etc.)
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Minimum 7 years applied professional EHS work experience;
- Proficiency in English and Spanish languages both written and spoken.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to present information clearly and concisely through all levels of an organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to quickly adjust to changing situations.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Safety or Environmental related technical discipline;
- Experience with Motor Vehicle and Office Safety;
- Relevant EHS professional certification. Example: NEBOSH, CSP, CHMM, or equivalent.
- Travel about 25% of the time.
