Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a E&S Coordinator in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our E&S Coordinator you will contribute to establishing, implementing and maintaining performance of the Environmental and Social (E&S) management system for the 1 GW Solar and 200 MWh BESS project in Naga Hammadi, Qena (Obelisk Power Plant) , support the project - and organisation - in ensuring compliance to the internal E&S framework and local regulations, best practices and lender performance requirements, and build and drive a positive company E&S culture.

Main purpose of position

Main responsibilities
- Coordinate development and implementation of the project E&S performance management system, analysis and monitoring
- Train and supervise project teams including contractors
- Develop E&S communication material
- Support the project in establishing E&S documentation
- Conduct E&S risk assessments and oversee/support third party studies, ie. ESIAs as required
- Contribute to corporate E&S systems, e.g. audit programme

Manage E&S inputs and progress for the project, according to decision gate requirements:
- ESIA
- ESMPs
- Contractor management and site audits, including accommodation audits and join lender audits
- Implementation of lender ESAP(s)
- Stakeholder engagement
- Community development projects
- Contribution to grievance mechanism

Input to the project:
- Periodic update of the existing operation and maintenance management system
- Liaise with the project’s HSSE personnel to follow up on implementation of E&S management system
- Conduct periodic internal audits and join lender/third party audits
- Carry out monthly and annual E&S reporting in accordance with lender templates/requirements
Qualifications and competencies
- University Degree, preferably in social and environmental sciences/engineering or relevant
- Minimum 3 years within E&S/EHS/HSSE field from relevant industries
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
- You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges

For the particular role we also expect
- Flexibility for frequent travelling within the country

Excellent understanding of:
- IFC/EBRD performance requirements
- Law 4/1994 of the environment, its executive regulations and amendments
- Egyptian labour law
- Experience in Solar Power projects is required.
