Purpose of the job

Handle all SW related issues and tools including SW development , integation and automation for all transport tools

Leading the development and implementation of the best practice processes followed by the Converged Transport department.

Ensure automation and digitalization of all transport operation processes and activities

Help overseeing the overall Transport network performance with all external and internal entities, and supporting all management systems to monitor and analyze the faults of Transport devices.

Duties and responsibilities

• Help in developing, implementing and enforcing network quality standards and controls across the Converged Transport department (Mobile Core Data Network Operations, Corporate Data Network & Security Operations, Converged Data Network 1st Line Support & Telco Cloud Operations, Converged Transmission Operations and Fixed Core Data Network Operations)
• Ensure automation and digitalization of all transport operation processes and tools
• Handle all SW related issues including SW development , integration and automation for all transport tools.
• SW development , integration and operations for all the tools required to enhance transport network operations performance
• Leading the implementation and management of the best practice processes (change management, incident management, problem management, KEDB, configuration management and request fulfillment) and ensure that they are always being followed by Converged Transport operations team members and their stakeholders.
• Ensure Converged Transport operations processes are aligned with the business requirements.
• Managing Converged Transport Inventories with all vendors and build the SW and the process to automate these activities
Responsible for the implementation of all ITIL best practice processes inside our department including design , implementation , control , automation and measurement .

• Reponsible for all SW development and integration activities to calculate and measure all major department KPIs and network performance indicators

• Ensure alignement between our manual equipment inventories and the existing tools to ensure updated contracts with all network vendors.
• Follow up on all end of Sale and end of support equipment with all Converged Transport teams for all devices with all vendors ensuring timely reporting and follow up with various teams till closure of the issue and work to develop the SW required to automate these tools

• Producing weekly reports and providing transport network trend analysis to identify improvement areas to help operations and engineering teams.

• Providing -in a timely manner- different types of the desired reporting (Transport Dashboard, Executive report, RFC Progress and KPIs) for Converged Transport Ops teams (that shows network performance , team performance and individuals performance.

• Responsible for designing , implementing , documenting and managing transport operations processes
• Follow open issues with all transport network vendors + help in presenting them to senior management whenver required till issues are resolved satisfactorily.

• Assist the projects in defining specific measures and metrics.

• Ensure keeping up to date configuraiton backups for all Converged Transport network devices and vendors.

• Help in managing agreements with all vendors in order to ensure compliance with our standards, monitor vendors performance and help in all vendor management activities across the transport network.

• Leading the team to ensure that all activities and tasks are in progress according to the commited deadlines.

Job specification

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Electronics & Communications or Computer Engineering or computer science Departments.

Experience

• At least one year experience in software development


• Very good knowledge of Java Script/Node.js and Python.


• ‏Familiarity with relational databases, particularly Postgre SQL.


• ‏Basic understanding of different networking concepts.


• ‏Exposure to frontend development, preferably with React.


• ‏A basic understanding of caching mechanisms like Redis is a plus.


• ‏Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.


• Certification and knowledage is preferable in (ITIL-V3/4)


• Good knowledge of Mobile technologies , network concepts and devices.

• Good understanding for contracts/vendors management
• Ability of collecting and validating different types of data with high level of accuracy.
