Billing and Collections Manager (fixed-term)

To support our growth, we are now looking for a fixed-term Billing and Collections Manager to play an important role in ensuring a smooth billing and collections process and be part of building scalable billing and collection processes which will help Sympa achieve its goals.
You’ll provide valuable support to colleagues across the business and provide excellent service to customers. You will be a part of Sympa’s finance organization, and you will report to our CFO. Your journey
The first couple of months you will spend focusing on learning everything there is to know about Sympa: understand the product, our billing and collection processes, the billing tool Billwerk, the teams and more. You’ll work closely with all Finance team members to understand the different roles in the team.
After 1 month, you will have taken full ownership of the day-to-day billing operations. You’ll be involved in setting up the collection process and optimizing the existing accounts receivables process in Netsuite and Billwerkand be fully up to speed with all tasks related to Accounts Receivable and revenues during the month end closing process.
After 4 months, you’ve mastered the billing and collections operations and incorporated your own recommendations and improvements to processes. You’ve helped transition the full Billing and Collections team to our new billing tool (Billwerk) and coordinate the implementation of a new time and attendance tool. Aside from this you have been able to decrease the average period for overdue invoices and managed to lower the outstanding AR significantly.
In this role you’ll:
- Ensure efficient, accurate and timely processing of all customer billing, collections, and related transactions in the financial administration.
- Manage and implement improvements to the collections process.
- Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, including customers and colleagues.
- Own the day-to-day billing and collections operations.
- Ensure efficient and timely process with regards to monthly revenue recognition and deferred revenue, including controls and reconciliations.

What you’ll bring to the team:
- 4-6 years of working experience in a similar position in an international environment
- Masters in Business Administration or any other business or financial field
- Fluent in English
- Accuracy and eye for detail
- Highly organized and structured way of working
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Working experience in a Finance team is a plus
What we would also appreciate:
- Working knowledge of Billwerk and/or Netsuite.
