Controller (Fixed-term / Parental Leave Replacement)

Job role and purpose:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the 3step IT´s finance team during a parental leave. The length of the fixed-term employment is estimated to be from January 2025 until the end of December 2025.

The purpose of this role is to support group functions and functional management by providing information and analyses of the financial performance regarding the group parent companies to support decision-making in management team. This will include group controlling activities, such as calculation and documentation of transfer pricing, calculations for invoicing and reviewing monthly actuals. You will also be responsible for forecasting with cost center owners, as well as conducting variance analysis.

You act as an IT finance partner, working closely with our IT leadership team and supporting them with forecasting, cost-controlling, and evaluating our R&D and fixed asset projects from a finance perspective. Finally, you get to build and develop new and existing processes that makes the work more efficient and eliminate manual tasks.

Ideal candidate:
You have previous experience from a controlling function and have good business understanding. Your collaboration skills are on point, and you proactively work with stakeholders to make sure you have an up-to-date picture of the business environment to help you with forecasts and financial planning. You enjoy working in a multicultural environment and collaborate eagerly with everybody, and you are actively driving the business forwards. While it’s not necessary to have an accounting background to be successful in this role, having a practical understanding of accounting rules and principles is required.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in finance or similar
• 4+ years' experience in controlling, finance, accounting, or similar tasks
• Full working proficiency in English (Finnish is preferred)
• Practical knowledge of Finnish Accounting Standards
• Experience of working with business stakeholders (preferably IT)
• Capability to understand the links between transactions and the big picture
• Process understanding
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Reporting and communication skills, ability to communicate across different organization functions
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, other tools are a plus (Anaplan, Power BI, MS NAV/ MS F&O)
