About Inklusiiv ry
Inklusiiv ry is a non-profit association on a mission to create and share knowledge about diversity, equity and inclusion. Inklusiiv funds and publishes research, maintains an open-access resource bank on DEI topics, and collaborates with researchers to create new knowledge on equity and inclusion in working life.
About the role
We are seeking a freelance writer to support us in communicating about original research we have recently conducted on inclusion in the workplace.
Using findings from a multidisciplinary literature review, conversations with our experts and other materials as needed, you will summarise complex information into a succinct and compelling piece of text. We are looking for writing skills that can transform academic text into a readable and compelling story, bring key messages to life and encourage start-to-end reading even for those individuals who may be new to the subject.
By helping us communicate about the research we do, you will be contributing to a more informed and lively discussion on inclusion in working life, in Finland and globally.
What you’ll be doing
The purpose of this 1-2 month communications project is to create a succinct summary on inclusion in the workplace, based on a multidisciplinary academic literature review and conversations with Inklusiiv’s experts. The objectives of the project are:
1. To write a 10-15 page text on inclusion in the workplace that informs readers about a complex phenomenon in a clear and interesting way.
2. To contribute to a more evidence-based and well-informed public discourse on diversity, equity and inclusion by translating academic research and expert knowledge into formats that can be accessed by the general public.
3. Clarify and put into words key messages and findings from the research in an accessible way.
The specific methods, modalities and outputs will be defined in discussion with the Inklusiiv team to ensure a relevant, realistic and impactful scope for the project. We hope that you can incorporate Inklusiiv’s philosophy, tone of voice and approach to inclusion in the style of writing. The Inklusiiv team will provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the project.
Role requirements
We’re happy to receive offers until 06.09.2024, but we will start reviewing them already before the deadline. To apply, send us in pdf format:
