Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a passionate Trade Program Manager to coordinate and lead initiatives across global operations and technology in line with the Global ABB Trade Program. As the Global Trade Program Manager, your primary focus will be to lead the implementation of the ABB Trade Program, own and drive projects from design to execution within the Motion Business Area, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance maturity, and ensure compliance with global customs, export control, and sanctions standards. In this function you will report to the Motion Business Area Trade Manager. The Global Trade Program Manager is expected to have functional knowledge, the ability to design new program frameworks and processes, and the capability to run programs and projects independently. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with global business and operations teams while developing and maintaining a best-in-class Trade Compliance program. The work model for the role is: hybrid ; #LI-Hybrid The role is contributing to the Motion Business Area globally. Main stakeholders are the members of various functions in division (Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, etc.), global and local Trade community. The ideal candidate is based in Europe (e.g. Finland, Italy, Poland, Germany, etc.) Business travel will be required from on an ad hoc basis (up to 20%). You will be mainly accountable for: • Program and Project Management: Oversee the entire trade program and project execution to enhance trade and operational processes and support the BA Trade Team at tactical and operational levels. • Innovation and Best Practices: Drive innovation within the organization and share best practices to improve trade compliance and operational efficiency. • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve program goals and support various business functions. • Data Analytics and Trends: Utilize data analytics to monitor trade compliance trends, drive continuous improvement, and provide ongoing visibility into programs and initiatives. You will join an exciting environment with various cross-functional activities with substantial visibility and overview, working on interesting projects around innovation and having autonomy and empowerment for decision making.Qualifications for the role
- Minimum 8 years of overall work experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management with 3-5 years of focused experience on Trade Compliance.
- Solid understanding of customs, export controls and sanctions, and the broader Logistics and Supply Chain.
- Experience in managing programs and executing projects from design to completion and using data and metrics to make improvements.
- University degree in International Trade, Supply Chain / Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on approach to driving innovation, sharing best practices, and adapting to changing business environments.
- Experience in developing training programs, a passion for technology to improve trade compliance processes, and the ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
- Change and project management expertise
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, ability to coordinate, influence and lead without authority.
- Familiar with the US Export Administration Regulations and the global sanctions framework, including U.S. sanctions and embargo programs is an advantage.
- Fluent English language skills.
