Working as Group Chief Accountant at Roschier

As our Group Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations, and providing guidance to support the group's goals and objectives.

Your main responsibilities

Implement and ensure adherence to accounting policies, month-end and annual closings, and consolidation.
Manage internal controls, participate in daily bookkeeping and audits, and drive process improvements.
Solve complex accounting issues and advise AP, AR, and other stakeholders on accounting-related issues.
Manage documentation and reporting for various tax-related matters, including transfer pricing, income taxation, VAT, transfer tax, statistical reports, and annual notifications.

In this position, you will be located at the Helsinki office and report to Head of Accounting, while working closely together with colleagues in both Sweden and Finland, gaining insight into an international and dynamic professional services organization. You will be part of a cross-border accounting team consisting of 10+ accounting specialists.

Together the accounting and financial controlling team is responsible for a comprehensive range of financial activities, including accounts payable, travel and expense management, general accounting, payroll, and payments.

Experience you will need to succeed in this role

5+ years of experience from, and strong skills within accounting
relevant education (e.g. B.Sc./M.Sc. in Accounting and/or Finance)
good knowledge of Finnish accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
experience from FX accounting, consolidated financial statements, monthly, quarterly and annual closings and tax related operations such as corporate income taxes, VAT reporting and transfer pricing
excellent teamwork skills and an ability to interact with various stakeholders
strong problem-solving skills and an ability to identify critical topics and process issues where necessary
an ability to work under pressure and with tight schedules (monthly, quarterly and annual routines)
strong experience with Excel and possibly with Maconomy
fluent written and oral communicational skills in Finnish and English, Swedish is considered as an advantage
