Accounting and Operations Assistant

To complete our ambitious team, we are currently looking for an Accounting and Operations Assistant.


The Role:

An ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping activities for companies based in the UK or EU. In this combined role, you will be responsible for executing day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks in compliance with local GAAPs and company procedures, as well as assisting in various operational duties to ensure the smooth running of our company.

What We’re Looking For:

Accounting Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable: Process, report, reconcile, chase payments, and manage bad/doubtful debts
  • Billing: Execute and monitor billing activities
  • Compliance Reporting: File Intrastat reports and other compliance reports for Netherlands, Germany, and the UK
  • Tax Implications: Consider VAT/Tax implications and prepare tax-related reports
  • Invoice Matching: Perform invoice matching and reconcile with delivery notes against invoices and purchase orders
  • Annual Accounts: Assist in the preparation of annual accounts and implement recommendations
Operations Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Act as the second-in-command to the Manager and handle all duties in their absence
  • Assist the Manager with operational issues
  • Schedule meetings and team building sessions as required
  • Promptly answer colleagues' questions and address stakeholders' needs
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain relationships
  • Prepare and file forms and other documents
  • Take inventory and order office supplies as needed
  • Update logs and order forms
  • Record meeting minutes
  • Analyze all operations and forward suggestions for improvement to the Manager


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities of medium size
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively


Skills & Qualities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
  • Familiarity with local accounting regulations and compliance standards in Europe
  • Proficiency in other languages besides English (e.g., French, German) is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
