About the job:

The position will be based in Innovation Hub Central, located in the Munich Urban Collab. The objective of the Innovation Hubs is to create a vibrant innovation eco-system, ensuring effective knowledge and activity management and prominent regional visibility. The Innovation Hubs coordinate local and regional activities of EIT Urban Mobility and the network with the core partners and other parties involved in their Innovation Hub region. The five Innovation Hubs work closely together to achieve the goals and mission of the EIT Urban Mobility.

The Communication and Events Assistant will report to the Managing Director of Innovation Hub Central. The work will proactively and creatively communicate the EIT Urban Mobility message across all German speaking countries and develop and implement of a PR strategy in German speaking countries in close collaboration with the Communication and Events Officer of the Hub.

Tasks include:

• Write PR and media content, speaker notes, and other content needed to promote EIT Urban Mobility activities in German
• Secure high-level placements in German language print, online, TV, podcasts and social media
• Maintain a keen understanding of urban mobility trends and the political debate in German speaking countries
• Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate a strong network with media in the German speaking region.
• Plan, organize and execute PR events in the German speaking region
• Support the visibility and reach of Innovation Hub Central at congresses, trade fares and high-level meetings in the German speaking region
• Translate and proofread of EIT Urban Mobility marketing materials in German
• Prepare presentations in German in line with the EIT Urban Mobility communication guidelines
• Assist with the administration of writing procurement legal and operational documents
• Support the KPI monitoring and impact assessment of Innovation Hub Central
• Closely align with all colleagues in Innovation Hub Central and in the Headquarter in Barcelona
• Participate in and engage with EIT Urban Mobility activities and events

What you will bring along the way:

Must-have:

• A passion for urban mobility
• Excellent written and verbal German communication skills
• Very good written and spoken English, as the main language of EIT Urban Mobility
• A completed vocational training or university degree programme in the fields of journalism, communication, humanities, linguistics or similar
• Relevant work experience in the field
  
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder relation skills
• Proven high-level project management skills
• A problem-solving mind-set, hands-on attitude

Nice-to-have:

• A network in the German-speaking media landscape
• Experience with EU programmes or projects
• An additional European language is a plus

Kindly note that this is a permanent position, and it is based in Munich.
