We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Patent Assistant (M/F/D) to join our Advanced Technology team in Munich, Germany and play an essential role in managing our intellectual property portfolio. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support our IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) management team and work closely with inventors, patent counsels, patent offices, and external service providers.

Principal Duties and Essential Functions

Provide crucial support to the IPR management team in all patent-related activities
Coordinate patent portfolio reviews to align with strategic objectives
Ensure the timely payment of patent maintenance fees and manage the full patent lifecycle
Administer the patent process, from idea disclosure through to patent filings, while ensuring with compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines
Act as the main point of contact for inventors and outside patent counsels
Prepare and issue inventor letters, initiating incentive payments for inventors
Maintain and update patent records and databases, as well as our patent intranet
Prepare both regular and ad-hoc patent statistics and reports
Keep inventor forms, training materials, and process descriptions current
Manage the trademark database to secure company trademarks
Oversee the patent and standards budgets, including forecasting and payment management
Maintain framework agreements with external counsels and manage related contracts
Organize inventor awards and manage the company’s patent wall of recognition

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

Professional training as office manager or paralegal (preferred)
Experience in patent administration or a similar role
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Fluent German and English language skills
Proficiency in patent management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with budgeting tools and patent databases is a plus
