Are you passionate about doing research and optimizations in the area of electrical drive systems?
Are you interested in making a contribution to sustainable technology development and also in
making young talents fit for future challenges? At our university, you will have the opportunity not
only to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of engineers but also to actively contribute
to innovative research aimed at achieving a sustainable future. We are excited about the prospect
of working with you to advance both teaching and research in these vital areas.

Your tasks:
  • You will bring your expertise in the abovementioned subject area to the teaching of our
Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in electrical engineering, conducted in both
German and English.

  • You will be actively involved in supervising our students in their project works and Bachelor’s
and Master’s theses (ideally in collaboration with your and our industry partners).
  • You will be head of our laboratory "Electrical Machines"
  • You will be involved in applied and interdisciplinary research, particularly in the subject area
and initiate/maintain collaborations with practice partners in Germany and abroad.
  • You are committed to the further development of the university and contribute to the
internationalization of our university, such as through the U!REKA initiative.


Your profile:
  • You have a successfully completed a university degree in engineering, and ideally, you can
demonstrate your academic qualification through a Ph D in the relevant field.
  • You have at least five years of professional experience including at least three years outside the
university sector in the field of electrical drives, and in at least one of the following areas:

Control Theory / Renewable Energies / Electric Mobility / Industry 4.0

  • You are committed, team-oriented and enjoy interdisciplinary, diversity-sensitive work in
teaching and research.
  • German language skills of at least level C1 are mandatory.

In addition, following points are desirable:
  • You have initial teaching experience, for example, teaching assignments or didactic training.
  • You can demonstrate your academic qualifications through publications (conferences and/or
journals), the acquisition of third-party funding and the successful implementation of research
projects.

  • You already have experience with budget management and/or staff supervision.

The position is open-ended. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially in a
probationary civil servant relationship or in a permanent employment relationship with a three-year
