We are looking to fill the following position in Faculty 4: Health and Social Work by April 01, 2025:

Intersectional inequalities and marginalisations in the context
of social work

Your tasks:

The professorship ‘Intersectional Inequalities and Marginalisation’ is dedicated in teaching and
research to the social issue of the interweaving of analytically distinguishable dimensions of
inequality and power relations that lead to the marginalisation of individuals and groups.
Marginalisation can take place economically, politically, legally and culturally. The intersectional
analysis of marginalisation effects requires social science knowledge from the fields of social
inequality theories as well as gender and racism research. Relevant expertise in at least one of these
theoretical fields is a prerequisite.

Your profile:

For the advertised position, we are looking for a professionally qualified person with a degree and
doctorate in the social sciences or related disciplines. Teaching experience at universities in the
main subject area is a prerequisite, in particular the appropriate communication of complicated
issues.

As a post holder, you will teach according to your profile in the degree programmes/modules of the
department. In addition to disciplinary teaching, it is assumed that you will be involved in teaching
the focal areas related to the field of action. For this, we require knowledge of and experience with
application-related methods of social work as well as theory-practice transfer.

The prerequisite is a qualified doctorate, preferably related to the advertised teaching field. Proof of
at least 5 years of professional experience, including 3 years outside the university sector or
additional academic achievements related to the advertised position are required. Please apply with
a teaching and research concept. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding is desirable.

The ability to teach in German is a prerequisite.

The position is available for an unlimited period of time. When first appointed to a professorship,
employment is initially on a probationary civil service basis or on a permanent employment basis
with a three-year probationary period.
