The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) with its 1,100 employees has gained an excellent reputation as an international competence centre for environmental sciences. We are part of the largest scientific organisation in Germany, the Helmholtz association. The working group "Systems Analysis of the Bioeconomy" at the Bioenergy Department is seeking an interdisciplinary scientific employee (75%) to support key activities in sustainability and policy research, currently being carried out in national and EU projects.
The filling of the position is contingent upon the final approval of the funding provider.
- The candidate will contribute to the European activities of the Department by interpreting the life cycle assessment (LCA) of three international studies on agri-photovoltaic (Agri-PV) alternatives for Europe. This will involve providing knowledge-based policy recommendations for various participating European regions.
- The candidate will also support stakeholder involvement activities related to the establishment of monitoring programs at national and regional levels.

Your profile
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., sustainability, environmental science, bioeconomy, European policy or related disciplines).
- Strong expertise in life cycle assessment (LCA) is required.
- Ability to understand and engage with both sustainability and policy fields.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
