This role will be part of Group Data Insights & Analytics (DIA) Team and help drive strategic / transformational Advanced Analytics initiatives and turn strategic data assets into actionable insights across the organization.

YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

He/she actively takes part in the development, deployment, and integration of prioritized Advanced Analytics solutions in collaboration with local/regional cross-functional teams and/or external partners, and internal team of other data scientist and insights lead.

DIVE INTO DATA: Develop a comprehensive and deep understanding of the data we work with and foster learning with colleagues using analytical tools and applications to broaden data accessibility and advance our proficiency/efficiency in understanding and using the data appropriately.
BE AN EXPERT IN APPLYING METHODS: Stay current with and adopt emergent analytical methodologies, tools and applications to ensure fit-for-purpose and impactful approaches. Choosing and using the right analytical libraries, programming languages and frameworks for each task. Producing high-quality code that allows us to put solutions into production. Refactoring code into reusable libraries, APIs, and tools
PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY ANALYSES: Apply rigor in analytical methods; plan for data processing; design a fit-for-purpose analysis plan, assess effective ways of presenting and delivering the results to maximize impact
INTERPRET AND SHARE RESULTS: Communicate findings to internal stakeholders, Country, and Business heads; publish results; participate in external meetings and forums to present your insights (e.g. congress/conference).
COLLABORATE & SHAPE: Collaborate and contribute to functional, cross-functional, enterprise-wide or external data science communities, networks, collaborations, initiatives or goals on knowledge-sharing, methodologies, innovations, technology to enable broader and more effective use of Data and Analytics to support business.

ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?

Education & Background:

A BSc, preferably an MSc, in Computer Science, Operations Research, Data Science, Engineering or closely related STEM field.
Internships or relevant work experience to demonstrate use-case portfolio and experience in working with real life data is preferred
Applied use of Econometrics and ML models, ideally within an FMCG environment, desired

Technical Skills:

Exceptional programming skills with Python/Pyspark and SQL; exposure in R also desirable
Exposure to data visualization using Power BI, respective certification a nice-to-have
Familiar with cloud technologies, ideally the Azure environment and Databricks
Familiarity with modern software engineering practices (e.g. CI/CD) and object-oriented programming
Other desirable technologies and tools: Git, Excel

Soft Skills:

Eager to expand knowledge in commercial analytics use cases and grow as a commercial data scientist
An interest to derive actionable insights from data and communicate them to stakeholders
Attention to detail, Can-Do but also patient attitude
Ability to work in multicultural and multilingual environments
English fluency
Comfortable working with deadlines, both in large groups and independently

Nice to have:

A public Git Hub repository containing excerpts of previous work and own independent DS projects
