Overview
Chubb is looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities

Be an outstanding teammate and assist the development of workflows, and integrations with web services.
Design and develop robust, scalable, hard-working production applications.
Focus on coding and debugging
Build high-quality reusable code which could be used in the future
Run powerful technologies to improve applications
Support our progressive senior leader in daily tasks
Collaborate with others from our diverse worldwide tech team
Apply a global and diverse perspective to problem solving
Review and recommend improvements to existing system designs and engineering processes
Contribute to incremental upgrades and timely integration of application code changes and testing

Qualifications

At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Java Software Engineer and Object-Oriented programming
Previous experience in Spring Boot / Quarkus and/or Apache Camel
Experience in developing web services, web service APIs, as well as implementing code to consume existing APIs
Experience in both SQL & No SQL Database technologies.
Knowledge of project lifecycles, understanding project lifecycle methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and CI/CD
Experience in working with Dev Ops teams and Jenkins pipelines
Experience in unit testing and functional testing frameworks such as JUnit or NUnit
Familiarity with common software engineering tools and practices (Git, Maven, etc)
Experience in Azure Cloud – (deploying / monitoring / managing the apps - using Kubernetes and/or Customized tools) will be considered a plus.
Previous experience in message queues (e.g. Kafka) will be considered a plus.
Strong communications skills with the ability to cooperate with both executives and technical staff in Greek and English
Familiarity with Integration patterns with Backend systems.
