SOC ENGINEER – THREAT INTELLIGENCE

- Conduct thorough threat analysis to understand the latest hacking techniques, vulnerability disclosures, and data breach incidents.
- Develop and maintain threat intelligence processes and procedures.
- Utilize Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools to gather and analyze threat information.
- Recommend optimizations for security monitoring tools based on threat hunting discoveries.
- Provide tuning recommendations to administrators based on findings during investigations or threat information reviews.
Rule Development and Playbooks:
- Develop new detection rules to identify emerging threats or attack patterns.
- Create and manage MS Sentinel analytics rules and playbooks to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
- Conduct research to stay abreast of the latest security issues and threats.
- Collaborate with the team to implement new security measures and improve existing ones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Master's degree In an IT related field is a plus.
- SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Arc Sight, Log Rhythm, Microsoft Sentinel)
- Firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Check Point)
- IAM (e.g., Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, AWS)
- IDS/IPS (e.g., Snort, Suricata, Cisco Firepower)
- EDR (e.g., Crowd Strike, Microsoft Defender, Carbon Black)
- Packet Analysis Tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump)
- HIPS/NIPS (e.g., Trend Micro, Symantec)
- Network Monitoring Tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Nagios)
- Antivirus (AV) Software (e.g., Bitdefender, Kaspersky)
- UEBA (User Behavior Analytics) Tools
The following are considered an advantage for the candidate:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC.
- Experience in a similar role within a large enterprise or managed security service provider (MSSP).
