Job Description:
1. Material Research & Development - develop and test formulations to ensure the materials degrade at the intended rate while maintaining structural integrity during use.
2. Optimization of Biocompatibility - study and assess the interactions between marine life and the reef materials, ensuring that the artificial reef promotes the growth of marine organisms, such as oysters, without negative environmental impacts.
3. Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing - collaborate with the design and production teams to optimize the 3D printing process of the reef structures, ensuring efficient manufacturing using upcycled and biodegradable materials.
4. Testing & Quality Control - Conduct mechanical, chemical, and environmental tests on artificial reef prototypes to evaluate their performance in real-world marine conditions.
5. Environmental Impact Assessment - Monitor and assess the long-term environmental impacts of deployed artificial reefs, including the degradation of materials and their effects on marine life.
Requirements:
Who we are looking for:
1. BS/MS degree in Biology / Marine Engineering / Biomedical Engineering / Enviromental Science / Material Science or a related subject;
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering design;
3. Knowlegde in marine ecosystems and oyster biology.
4. Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques.
5. Experience in electronic monitoring design.
6. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
9. Creativity in new ideas and future focus vision;
