Head of Securities Operations – Leading Investment Bank – Hong Kong
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading investment bank in Hong Kong for a highly experienced Head of Securities Operations. This leadership role is perfect for someone who is passionate about driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and building a dynamic, inclusive team culture. The successful candidate will oversee multiple back-office functions, aligning operations with the bank's strategic objectives while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of 10+ professionals across key back-office functions including Equity Settlements, Fixed Income Cash Settlements, Corporate Actions, Cash Management, and Account Services.
Ensure full compliance with internal and external regulatory control requirements, and implement market-leading operational processes.
Drive efficiency and productivity improvements while promoting operational excellence.
Enhance team engagement, dynamics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure the Operations Department is fully aligned with the bank’s strategic goals and business imperatives.
Actively participate in new product development and support local, regional, and global projects.
Retain, mentor, and develop top talent within the team, promoting growth and leadership.
Oversee the department’s expense budget, ensuring effective cost management.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field.
15+ years of experience in Operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of the Equities/Fixed Income product life cycle, with expertise in settlements and corporate actions workflows.
Experience leading middle office functions is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with regulatory and market developments impacting the product life cycle, and proficiency with technologies like Fidessa, Murex, and Gloss.
Fluency in English is essential, while Mandarin, Cantonese, or Japanese would be advantageous.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and drive a risk-aware culture.
A track record of successfully driving change within an organization, with a focus on operational planning and execution.
